30 ACHIEVEMENTS BEFORE 30

A Child born begins to SIT in the 8^th month, CRAWLS when he is 1year and 6months, STANDS when he is aged 2, WALKS when he is 3years+... Could this child be said to make PROGRESS? YES! He’s moving expectedly from STAGE TO STAGE, but this is SLOW PROGRESS. SUCCESS is PROGRESS in TIME. -PA

When we were younger we wished to be older, when age comes knocking we wish we were altogether younger. Now that’s one irony of life. I recall looking myself up in the mirror while I was a teen, searching diligently for any sign of beards. The first strand of hair I saw was a treasure to me. I wouldn’t cut it for anything. But today...

It’s thrilling being youth. This phase of life offers us opportunities to express ourselves in different outfits of life and in so doing we come to recognize the ones that fits our skins. I’ve never been a fan of early marriage, I feel there’s so much, youthful singlehood have to offer that would create life expanding perspective that may not be gotten when married. This shouldn’t be mistaken, because it’s purely MY OPINION. I’ve seen quite a number of really young couples who really are amazing.

There’s a MENTAL TRANSITION which occurs when we get into a new phase in our lives. All of a sudden we see a new reality previously hidden from our understanding that we thought we were familiar with. This transition occurs between the ANTICIPATION of something desired and its final ATTAINMENT. It’s that transition that occurs when you realise you’ve just graduated. Truth, you anticipated and prayed you did so successfully. Now it comes, its a whole new world altogether. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILIY becomes real... Societal expectation of your capability to pay your bills is thrown at you and it looks like some of our parents don’t spare us of that expectation. Indeed It’s a whole new world. This comes as a rude awakening to so many that leaves them in a hapless state of confusion.

Attaining 30years of age is a milestone ‘achievement’ age wise... if you are 30, CONGRATS! I look forward to getting there in a couple of years time. If you’re not... you surely will be alive till then.

As it were, most persons never really knew when they turned 30. They seem to have gotten used to being twenty something for almost a decade and you know, when in the twenties there’s this feeling of having so many years ahead. 30years tells another story... AGE doesn’t just look like a number as you were once told... your achievements, and probably lack of it comes to view... you suddenly realise you are an ADULT and time is running out. It looks like that age of 30 comes with an attendant wisdom.

Good enough, not everyone is taken unawares. Some have maximized their youthfulness inculcating FUN, ADVENTURE as well as PURPOSE. To these set, unfortunately very few in number, being 30 becomes another year in measuring their steady progress.

In the next couple of days I’ll be writing on #30AchievementsBefore30. These are what I strongly feel should be a worthy yardstick in measuring your progress in life. It’s simple, free from our lingua jargons, easy to understand, informative as well as motivational... it certainly would get you to act.

Unlike that child who begins walking at age 3, do well to measure your progress in the RIGHT TIMING.
