Asking, my young, beautiful and highly talented 'daughter', what plans she has in place for her singing career... Her reply? BY NEXT YEAR so so so...
As it were, it few hours time, the digits would change. Let's see how you put the year under control!

Ever had great zeal that prompts you into making 'Sky-Scrapper' decisions? That moment you heard Leslie made a first class, with excitement and determination you decide to devout 6hrs at a stretch for studies... Or in a bid to pick up Spiritually, you decide on a 100days fasting and Prayer program. Nice!
But how did it go after the first few days???
.
While counselling a lady few days ago, I had thrown to her some heart searching questions... As it were, she unveiled her determination to make a mark in the upcoming year, among which was a YEAR'S VIGIL... all through 2016.
.
Did I praise her zeal? NO!
Did I condenm it? WILL NEVER... but I had a piece of advice for her... "You can't break the LAW OF GROWTH".
.
I think most our FATHERS and MENTORS haven't been too fair with their sons/daughters... They tell of their outrageous sacrifices and unbelievable actions that led to their outstanding achievements. True though, but this could be misleading. Many would desire to do what their mentors did but tremendously! Little wonder they think BEING EXCEPTIONAL is an achievement reserved for the few.
.
Being fair enough, rather than appear in the costume of a SUPER-HERO Mentor, telling how they built some momentum into such sacrifice would be of greater help.
.
There is a LAW OF GROWTH that guides expansion. Any form of expansion has a root in your MENTAL/EMOTIONAL and PROFESSIONAL capacity... The sad news is that you weren't born with all you needed for such expansion, but life presents opportunities to acquire such... This is only achieved in a STEP-by-STEP manner.
.
It really isn't about the length of a fasting that matters to GOD, as your consistency in the one or two days you pick out in a week for such exercise... Aspiring to read 8hrs at a stretch begins with your 30mins to one hour consistently... At each level mastered, you unlock the strength for a greater level.

Thinking of opening a N500,000 business if you haven't ran a business before is nice, but keep that idea in a shelf... Go sell recharge cards and learn accountability.
.
Starting small isn't small itself... Its only the first steps taken to achieve greater steps... Whatever your plans are, if you've NEVER been into such, don't expect a MIRACLE... prayers and prophecy won't alter that sacred process. You will FAIL, but then you will LEARN and finally you will RISE! For even with God, it still remains... Precepts upon Precepts, line upon lines... A little here and a little there... Isaiah28:10.

The TESTIMONY

2015 has been a great year for me and no doubt for Gods Church I'm privileged to pastor. There's been countless Testimonies of Gods GREAT act, still none compares to the Salvation of a Soul, which is the GREATEST of all. Of all the testimonies, there's one I'll share briefly with you... Please READ and LEARN from it.

Through a long journey of prayers and expectancy, God decided to show up in a STRANGE way... First he took a step of faith, got into a private and demanded he saw the VC. You wouldn't expect a smooth sail there... An argument erupted between himself and the Secretary that got the VC's attention. To cut the long short... His papers were examined there and HE GOT IT! Coming straight to my office, he shared the incidence... Okay this wasn't enough, another call comes the following day... This time from another University at Lagos requesting for an interview AT HIS CONVENIRNCE. Monday was slated... Sunday morning 6am we prayed and off he went! While preparing for the interview Sunday night at his Hotel room... ANOTHER call comes. He couldn't help it, I received his text on it.
.
Done with the interview on Monday morning and his appointment letter about to be handed over to him, he leaves to attend to the third... Okay, here's the bomb shell... He wasn't called for an interview but to resume as a the ACCOUNTANT GENERAL of a multinational company with investments round the nation including an airline, and having 36 accountants reporting to him. His housing and basic things have been taken cared of and the  schools have called to tell him to pick up his appointment letter for immediate resumption this January! As it were, it all occurred within two weeks... Okay, I'll stop here.
.
Who wouldn't want a rapid turn around testimony in his life? But wait a minute, there was a conversation we both had... He said, "Now I'm in a position of influence, I could bring some members into the system.... BUT ARE THEY QUALIFIED????"
.
He gets a triple fold JOB, we all need that... But I didn't mention, He's a graduate, with two Masters and presently on his PhD. While he PREPARED himself, others played away their time. Asking for manna is one thing, but when it falls do you have a BASKET to pick your portion?
.
No man can guarantee you INCREASE. Only God can, but you can PREPARE for it... You are LIFTED!

SUCCESS ATMOSPHERE 4

Good morning,

I'm indeed excited today with less than 48hours into the New Year. I'm blessed, I'm in control, I determine rather than being determined through the power of the Spirit that quickens.
.
Once I asked a group of students where do you see yourself in 5years. "WHERE GOD WANTS ME TO BE" was one of their replies. "Then how do you know that's where God wants you to be...?" I asked...
.
What are your expectations for the upcoming year? Nothing waters the power of DISCIPLINE to goals more than the lack of CLARITY OF GOALS. As simple as this may sound, the question "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Hasn't gotten the right answer from us.
.
Luke 18:38 tells of that man, like most of us want a blessing but lack specific desire. "Jesus, thou son of David have mercy on me" surely sounds like a great prayer... But one of the first rules of receiving is a CLARITY OF REQUEST. Jesus steps in and asks, WHAT DO YOU WANT?.
.
Our actions and inactions are outward signs of the beatings of our heart. You can't effectively teach DISCIPLINE of actions/consistency without emphasizing CLARITY... Men would only sacrifice to what they are convicted about. Another book on discipline would only boost your book shelf but would help you in a little way until you UNDERSTAND clearly what you must discipline yourself to.
.
I try not to encourage/challenge people to read until i make them understand the relationship between their KNOWLEDGE and their DESIRES. If they know this on an emotional/logical dimension, encouragement would be easier achieved... The man who spends hours in his Bible studies has SEEN in clear terms the relationship between the WORD OF GOD and His SUCCESS (be it spiritual, physical etc).
.
Just before the year folds up, spending quality time with your destiny questions and giving them the right answers could and would certainly reposition you for EXCELLENCE.
.
Slowly but progressively, I see you being distinguished.

SUCCESS ATMOSPHERE (3)

Hello,
It's just a few days to another year. The digits certainly would change and year tags/themes would come but it wouldn't change the outcome of the year except you do! Your life is in God's hands but your DESTINY is in yours!
I see you rising!
.
Can you recall my Christian friend nodding to a beat from a secular song unconsciously while in Church? I'll take it up from there, but this time from another perspective.
.
In few days time millions of believers would gather to mark the religious Cross Over service in their various denominations... One thing that Characterises such services is the TAG for that year uttered from the mouth of the Spiritual heads. Waves of 'AMENS' fills the auditoriums, but how many really experience the promises attached to that year?
.
Some have taken this tag to be of something religious and no more than that... Some argue that God does anything and putting a tag pushes God into a box. Some would re-echo such tags often only when they are in the midst of 'the brethren' which has a way of producing the 'I BELONG' feeling. I wouldn't want to join issues with these ideologies, rather I would explain something deeper.
.
'I SPEAK OVERFLOW' to you. An amen is a spiritual response that seals the fact that you ENDORSE it, but doesn't guarantee that you RECIEVE it... and even though by genuiness of heart you receive it, PRODUCING an overflow in a reality basis is yet another dimension of operation. This is where the challenge lies. And as it were, this part isn't an act of divinity but an active role by you.
.
Dad bought a car few years ago of the Mazda brand. I had NEVER seen its type before. But withing that week I saw one. The following week I saw two... Now I see it every where. Guess what, those cars where there before Dad got his. Seeing his gave me an AWARENESS and consciousness of its existence. The ATMOSPHERE of that brand of car had been created in my MIND... I had no other option than to RECOGNISE it everywherr after then.
.
Thinking OVERFLOW on an emotional level helps my expectations. My expections creates an atmosphere different from the man who has none... EXPECTATION though not enough, is a milestone achievement in receiving...
.
While I pause here... Can I feel your heart beat and passion while with you for a while? Can the strength of your character and Values expose my weaknesses..? Show me a man who can answer to the affirmative to these questions and I'll show show you one who has created an atmosphere around him that speaks for him.
.
This day, your expectations shall not be cut short.

UNDERSTANDING PERFECTION

Echoing from the pages of the scripture Matt5:48... "Be ye therefore PERFECT...".
No doubt this has been a subject of discussion and contradictions among believers. Many think Christian PERFECTION is a superhuman achievement, and relatively few think this is a possibility by GRACE... but of their belief, they haven't seen a living proof.
.
Would Jesus command what is an IMPOSSIBILITY? Christ, who is our symbol of perfection says what he means and certainly means what he says. What then is PERFECTION?
.
Instilling discipline on a 3months old child because he soiled himself with his excrement would be considered outrageous! But what if he were a 5year old? I certainly would be justified.
.
Is my 3month old child receiving a favour from me by my not disciplining him? Certainly NO! Does my punishment to the 5year old make me partial in integrity? Certainly NO!

Now if I may ask, who is more perfect of the two since they are guilty of the same offence? Don't you think it's my 3yr old?
.
Why would I say that...? At 3 his 'FAULT' is expected. It would be outrageous if he crawls to the bathroom and uses the Water Closet! Even in his 'fault', he is that PERFECT child.
.
Its that Joy that comes to us in our walk with God though we repeatedly fall, yet he says... YOU ARE PERFECT. It beats our imaginations though with your seeming weakness in view yet His ways are far past ours in Wisdom.
This isn't an occasion to sin willingly, but a call to contend for the grace that produces the image of the incorruptible Christ.
.
And with that sense of confidence, can you tell yourself I AM PERFECT THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD!

SUCCESS ATMOSPHERE (2)

Top of the morning to you!

I will love to share an experience with you of which I'm sure you've had something similar. I had been in Church busy with quite a number of things. Having others around made everywhere lively.
Opposite the Church's premises is a compound known for playing all secular songs known... This day was one perfect they they did this.
.
While the songs blarred from the speakers, my good christian friend obviously lost into the songs began nodding his head to the beat... Upon his awareness, those of us around him had bursted into a hysterical laughter... But quite funny, he didn't even know the song prior to that time and he wasn't INTENTIONALLY listening! How then did he suddenly tune himself into the beats of the song unaware???
.
This explains the POWER in music, but much more deeper, it explains the power in an ATMOSPHERE created. Some songs when listened to, appeals to your LOVE emotion... Some to SEDUCTION... some to VIOLENCE... some to WORSHIP. The power in songs lies in the atmosphere it creates, and it is the atmosphere you dwell in that stimulates and directs your THOUGHTS, your ACTIONS and ultimately your SUCCESSES. This explains why the Prophet Elisha requested for minstrel to play the harp before he could prophesy! Even prophecy requires at atmosphere to operate!
.
We certainly can't go about playing songs all through our lives to generate the right ATMOSPHERE to operate. We can by ourselves generate our own atmosphere that enables drives our passion and sustains our continued excellence.
.
Here is what the Apostle Paul admonishes in Phillip.4:8. "Whatever things are pure... True... Of good report... Think on these things". While we can water the effect of this powerful exhortation to mere positive thinking, it certainly goes beyond that.
.
While I would be pausing here, it is of immense worth to know that whatever comes and remains in our lives, does so because our lives have created the right platform for its sustainance. You can't keep what you lack the capacity to retain.
.
As you move out, ensure you generate a positive and infectious aura.

The SUCCESS ATMOSPHERE (1)

Hello,
EVERYDAY has something to offer... in people, through experiences, by your actions etc I only hope you get the very best.
.
I recall offering a Biochemistry Course in my 2nd year. I hadn't any preconceived notion about the course but my first lecture received spelt out my expected grade. I fell in love with it intensely... ultimately, I had an EXCELLENT result there.
This couldn't be said of a Pharmacology course I offered in my fourth year. I DISLIKED it! I knew my fate. Having an 'E' would be termed an act of Gods intervention by me... well, that intervention NEVER came. My cumulative was 13%, and I wondered how I made so much!
.
I've always wondered how some have an INTENSE PASSION for what they do and many others careless and are I'll motivated at what they do  even with an awareness of the potential success their venture holds. My experiences with both my BCH and PHA courses gives a good model to that.
.
How do you expect to succeed at what you do without PASSION for it?
My answer came from Phillip.4:8... Whatsoever things are TRUE... GOOD REPORT... PURE... THINK on these things.
.
I ultimately realised that...
1. Success has an ATMOSPHERE it thrives in.
2. You can create and carry your own atmosphere with you.
3. You can infect others as well as be infected with an atmosphere.
.
Understanding and applying the principles to generating and maintaining the right atmosphere at all times and at all tasks has given my efforts a great return of rewards. Of this I will love to share with you.
.
Start up the New Year with the right ATMOSPHERE.

THAT WRONG STONE

WE had had quite a number of weeks between us, so meeting up after such while, TEGA a young OND degree holder had much to tell me. TEGA is a friend and much of our relationship has bordered more around the 'Counsellor-Counselle' frame.

TEGA is considering rewriting his School Certificate exams again. He had his credits then, and got into the higher institution with them. About 3years after the completion of his OND program, he thinks it's all a MISTAKE. He passionately loves the course of his study and seems to be doing well on the Job, but...

Having his personal dealings, how could he build a SOUND FUTURE career wise of a FOUNDATION OF INSINCERITY? He had bribed his way through for a sound SSCE result, though hidden from view... having the certificate authentically issued from the WAEC's office, he realised he had laid the wrong stone as a Pillar stone.

Lets drive a point home...
* Dan was dull, he was openly taunted by friends... with HURT as a motivation, he decides to leave a mark of excellence. Through had work and determination he eventually did!

* Sam shared similar travails. But being INSPIRED by the the successes of others, he tells himself "I can do it"... and he did!

Which of these two would most likely be of positive HELP to others?
Which has a tendency towards PRIDE?

While our opinions may not be entirely conclusive, we know where the balance tilts in either cases.
.
A noble course can't thrive on an uncertain and integrity punctured foundation. Sometimes, no matter the distance already ran, we need to re-consider the route we took... and like I have found myself saying lately, START AGAIN if necessary.
But how do you know when necessary?
